Castel Cerreto is a small nature reserve in the village of Pilone near the town of Penna Sant'Andrea in Teramo province. It is only twenty minutes from Villa Mandorla and is the perfect place to go for an affternoon when you want a relaxing and not-too-strenuous day.

This reserve is a wooded paradise, where birdsong adds to the magical feel and the peace and tranquillity is only broken by the plop of a turtle into the pond.

Castel Cerreto makes an ideal place for a quiet relaxing stroll below the cool green canopy of the trees. Allow an hour for the walk around its 70 hectares and another few hours to stay and enjoy the atmosphere or have a picnic.
