All through Spring and Summer Abruzzo is a jewel-box of wild flowers. You can see wild lilies in the hedgerows and in May and June the fields of poppies are spectacular.
Wild peonies grow in the Abruzzo countryside - this photo was taken on Campo Imperatore, the mountain plain.
There are many varieties of wild orchid. This photo (right) was taken while on a walk in the Monte della Laga. The photo below was taken in the garden of the Villa.
