Abruzzo is a paradise for walkers.
Abruzzo is a Paradise for all varieties of walkers.

From late spring until the first snows, the Abruzzo parks transform themselves into a hiker's wonderland.
In spring the green slopes are covered with wild flowers, and in the autumn, the leaves of the beech forests change colour and the mountain slopes turn vibrant shades of orange, yellow and red.
Whatever your level of fitness or your desire for adventure, there are plenty of walking routes around Abruzzo to meet your needs and inspire you.

There are walks for all abilities and levels of fitness.
Villa Mandorla is about 35 minutes from the cable car at Fonte Cerreto.
Abruzzo offers endless variety in its range of landscapes, from high mountain plains that resemble moonscapes, to deep gorges with waterfalls. Every corner that you turn offers a new and magical view, so that you will never tire or become bored of exploring.

The fact that Abruzzo is such an undiscovered area means that you will very rarely cross paths with other walkers, except on the most popular routes.

Villa Mandorla is in an absolutely perfect location for walkers. It is right on the edge of the National Park of Gran Sasso-Laga and is only a hop, skip and a jump to the cable car at Fonte Cerreto that takes you up to the Campo Imperatore. From here you can choose from a huge variety of walks of varying difficulty, from gentle strolls to Via Ferrata, scrambles and difficult routes for real experts.

After a hard day's hiking, climbing or rambling, come back to the Villa and cool down in the pool or warm up in the hydromassage shower, then sit on the terrazza panoramica and watch the sun set behind the mountains.
