Capestrano is an ancient fortified village with a range of medieval and renaissance architectures. It is famous for the discovery of the statue known as the Warrior of Capestrano, now kept in the Chieti National Archeological Museum.

There is a gelateria in the square where you can sit and relax with an ice cream and an espresso enjoying the view.
The castle dominates the town, and the bulb-shaped cusp of the church belfry adds interest to the view from the square.
