A visit to Grotta Sant'Angelo can be combined with a trip to Civitella and a walk along the Salinello Gorge.

The above photo shows the Gemelli (Twins) seen from the front balcony of Villa Mandorla. The Salinello Gorge runs between these two mountains. The entrance to the gorge is in Ripe.

Grotta Sant'Angelo
This photo shows the entrance to the Grotta Sant' Angelo.
Neolithic remains were found in the caves which were later used as a place of worship of the Archangel Michael.

The Grotta is at the start of the Salinello Gorge, and is easily accessible, but for a longer walk visitors can continue to the ruins of Castel Manfrino.
