The Grotte di Stiffe south of L'Aquila are an impressive series of caves. The visitor can walk 600m alongside a torrent inside the mountain. There are also impressive stalagtites, stalagmites and rock formations.

Near the caves there is a waterfalls walk and ruins of a medieval 'rocca'.
